Any help confirming this cancel, which appears to be a Railway Post Office cancel. There must be another letter or two after RPO DN__, based on the spacing. I wonder if it is an abbreviation for Dunedin?

Any help with an i.d. would be appreciated.

Yes, "DN" is the abbreviation of Dunedin,

I have an example somewhere, I'll try and dig it out

Rail post information found here: "Mails by Rail in New Zealand" by Albert Johnstone & Robin Startup, published 2001.

A new canceller, DN5 was introduced in 1897. It read 'RPO' rather than the previous 'RTPO'. Index letters remain as before: 1 for northbound, and 2 for southbound.

Thanks! Great info. (Haven't seen the stamp in 8 years, but I'll run across it again. I know approximately where it is.)
