thanks, revstampman. unfortunately, I am unable to find the retormarken chapter in the michel deutschland 2004/05 catalogu... did you find them in that catalog or some other? thanks again!

Hi filipo, the "retourmarken" aren't listed in my old 1999 Michel German Specialised but there is a short note about them near the end of the Bavaria listings just before the telegraph stamps.

It shows a number of examples including one like yours from Nuremberg.

Frankly, this one 3 Pf sachsen really looks like a pretty bad forgery... even not the right color used :) But who knows, I am pretty bad in stamp-prediction... although "kartonpapier" means "cardboard" on English, and this stamp is not printed on a cardboard... it is even more thiner and transparent... looks like some kind of film or paus-paper?

It should be listed in Michel Specialized. Correct Mi # is Bayern R4.5 issued in 1884. (R4.5 = Retourmarken, Issue 4, Stamp 5) This Issue is quite uncommon. But, also not highly sought after so the cost is fairly low.
