(1) Saxony 1850. My catalogue says it's red, which yours obviously isn't. This is possibly a fake. Many of the valuable early Italian and German stamps were forged in the late 19th century by a guy called Sperati.
(2) Saar overprint. 1920.
(3) Austria 1850. Looks like a very good copy. Nice! |

Thanks!
Yes, Saxony and for me also seems to be a fake, doesn't look like... although it comes in 3 variants - brick red, cherry red, and brown red. |

The 500 million in the inflation series is used and so should fetch a premium. It's Danzig, a "free state" and so has it's own listing and is not in the Vol 3 (G-I) which I have checked out from the library now. The rest of the inflation stamps were worthless when they were printed and remain so now. As the story goes, the inflation passed the value of the printed stamps so quickly, that they were unusable when they came off the press. Thus any stamp that actually got used fetches a premium. |

Thank you, Otto!
I already checked the Danzig 500 million stamp, and it doesn't have any value (in fact, it is less than 1$). |

I found few other interesting stamps today, for which I couldn't find any explanation... They are not only from Germany, but I will put the all in this thread... I don't like to open too much threads. So, these are obviously German labels... Are they also collectible? I suppose that these 2 are from the 1860's. I found a similar to the "retour" one, but these early registration (or even the writing on it) is un-Googable :) This one should be Scott #22, but it is not the same color, and this one is also imperf. I thought that this could be a cut out from the postal envelope... but I am just not sure. I didn't find anything about this Italian (?) stamp. What is this? I found it among other stamps, but it looks like that someone cut the image from the newspaper or from the catalog? I am sceptic about that, because I found it among hundreds of normal/valid stamps, but I don't have any other explanation than it is from the magazine or so. A stamp or a seal? Or also a cut or from an envelope?? The same question. Didn't find out this Hungary stamp... And this Portugal (or it is from some Colony?) This are probably some revenues, but I am not sure... |

Hungarian telegraph stamp (Tavirda). Either 1873 litho (higher CV), or 1874 copper. No watermark. 1873 litho perforation is 9 1/2, 1874 copper perforation 13 or 9 1/2. If have Michel Katalog, I guess you`ll find them Mi nr. 9 or 17. |

The Hungarian stamp you call Scott 22 (I`m not familiar with Scott)it`s an imperforated newspaper stamp, and has at least 6 color variation (several issues: 1874 no watermark, 1881,1889,1889b with watermark). |

Yes, Subotica=Szabadka. The first 3 Romanian stamps are from 1879-1880 (so called 2. Bucharest issue). Initially it was issued in Paris 1872, than the same plates (engraved by Albert Barre) were used in Bucharest twice, first in 1876 (1 Bucharest issue), than in 1879-1880. These are the 2 Bucharest issue:1/2 Bani, 10 Bani,25 Bani. (anyway, I know more about Hungarian stamps-in fact postmarks, cancellations, but I`ll try and answer about Romanian stamps too). |

You say you don't like to post so many threads, but when you don't it makes it very difficult to find some of the interesting things posted. I'm very interested in learning so please, in future, post countries individually so they can be searched on later. Thank you. |
