Goodness, I've never seen these before and I'm wondering whether they could be fakes. I'm talking about the two lots at the top. The lot at the bottom look like they could be real, but I must admit to not having seen them before either.
I'll see what I can find out, Jon. |

Thank you jimjamtoo. I appreciate your help. I bought german stamps for 10-15 years but never got around to organizing them. I am finally trying to do that. All three sets are the same physical size... 24mm x 14mm. Thanks again, Jon |

jderke, I did a google search on "invalidenvers stamp" and found a site that has a used stamp like your first one. It is a Nazi Disability Insurance Stamp - 270 pf revenue. A used one is going for $2.95. The middle stamp is listed on that site as a Nazi Disability Insurance Stamp - 360 pf revenue. For a mint stamp they want $1.95. I have no info on the last stamp. |

The third stamp does translate to Worker's Holiday, and was probably a means for collecting dues to the Nazi's Strength Through Joy program. Workers subscribed and paid dues, and in return they could attend cheap or free concerts, lectures, movies, and even take a vacation. The most famous benefit was the Volkswagen which workers made weekly payments to reserve their very own Peoples Car, once they had paid the full amount in advance. Unfortunately, a little inconvenience called World War Two came along and that was the end of the VW program. Those who paid into the program knew better than to complain (or demand a refund). |

zigzagolis: welcome to the Forum.
KGB: it's remarkable the stuff you dig up and post. Makes me a little sorry that I'll be selling my German area/German speaking country collections during 2016 (also the French area). But can't keep everything. I've got too much and need to downsize. |

Chris2015, it is hard to imagine, but stamp albums and covers can "take over" a room...even a stamp room. When you look around and see you've got too much stuff, some things have to go. Especially when you reach a certain age and you don't want to mow grass, or bush hog or climb stairs, you will move to a more manageable, smaller home. At this point, your stamp room might be smaller. You have to "downsize" and some things have got to go. This happened to me about 1 1/2 years ago. |
