I'm sort of in the same position as DJCMHOH, even though I'm not working for wages. Right now, I'm just too busy with other things to do anything philatelic other than keeping up on my reading (Linn's, APS & APRL, other society journals).

I am exclusively working on a study of Washington Franklin stamps. My goal is to be able to correctly identify all the types. I've got scores of the $.01 and $.02 stockpiled for this purpose. I wish there was somewhere where we could make an identification and send them along to an expert for confirmation. Not looking for written expertization services; just confirmation yay or nay.

At the beginning of each year, I turn my attention to the past year issues by buying the supplement (MYSTIC) and then filling it. After a couple of weeks, its back to the Washington Franklins.

Last may I won a lot of Malta used stamps at a live auction of the Quebec Philately Federation. All used low value stamps with many duplicates. Never seen the lot before bidding and spend to much but then I decided to collect this country but in mnh. I bought a lot on ebay this time mnh. I got complete sets mainly from the 80's and 90's with some duplicate sets and sheets.

I print my Steiner pages (Stamp Albums Web) and during this summer I mount my Malta stamps. While mouting my stamps I search the web for info about what the stamp is depicting. That's how I learn about a country I collect. Only mounting stamps is boring.

I always built my Excel listing as I mount my stamps comparing the Scott 2007 on cd values and Scott online 2016. For the lot I have so far there is good increase between 2007 and 2016. One stamp I mounted this morning, Scott 767, increase from $1.90 to $5.00.

When i'm working I only spend time on weekend with my stamps. And this summer I am working.
