Hello,

I came across these two stamps and wanted opinions w/r/t authenticity, identification, and current market values.

If I am interpreting the 2011 Scott catalog correctly, it appears that the 5,A2 could be worth between $ 125 - $ 475 with the 6,A2 nearing $ 175.

But obviously these figures are for real and correctly ID'd stamps.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Not my area at all, but may I direct you to http://www.fritzwagner.com/helgolan...s_intro.html

fabulous site, which will help you ID these. With all Heligoland, always but always assume that they are reprints or forgeries unless ID'd otherwise!

One quick test you can apply is the perforation. Some of the reprints were perf 14; the genuine stamps were perf 13½x14½.

Jubilee, that is a great site you identified in your link. When I compared the reprints to those mdpmedia scanned, I can't see any differences. Obviously you need to have any Heligoland stamps expertized.
