It was love at first sight. It is a postcard. Where is it from?
(Did I get a good deal?)

smauggie, I found the below link (Nepal) while checking something else this morning:

http://www.nepalstamps.com/my_exhibit_-_frame_2

Scroll half way down the page and it shows your card with some info on it.

Sadly, not uncommon - but I've yet to see a used copy in my travels. (Of course, I don't collect Nepal, but old Nepalese material does show up regularly in older Indian States accumulations.)

Well now you have

King Emperors camp post office (brit indian PO in Nepal)

other cancellation is earliest special native pmk of Nepal

This postcard showing all three types is very rare
(Prof. Springer collection)

Well, yes, a used copy, I grant you, Rodney. But I'm still looking for a proper, commercial use. I'm sure they exist, but compared with, say, the contemporary Jammu & Kashmir postcards

commercially used Nepalese postcards seem to be pretty thin on the ground.

Crikey!
you are hard man to satisfy Tony,
glad I am not trying to sell you a car.

OK.
Kathmandu to Bhaktapur (Bhadgaon) 1898
The Kathmandu datestamp (type 13)
served as a cancellation and also as a receiving mark
for Bhaktapur.

I finally got a chance to look mine up in the Higgins and Gage. What a surprise there are so many varieties of this one postcard depending on the design of the horse, the value tablet and the writing on the card. Turns out mine is a more common but not most common variety. There are some really scarce combinations that today would probably fetch $200.
