This WWI Austrian propaganda label portrays a teutonic strongman (central powers) fighting a seven-headed dragon (allied powers) whilst a fiendish man (Italian) stabs him in the back. The title reads "Faithless Italians!"
The Austrians wound up on the wrong side in WWI and lost the South Tirol and Northern Italy, along with Slovenia, Czechoslovakia, and other territory.
From any perspective, it is hard to imagine why Italian people would be imagined to be faithful, as regards the Habsburg occupiers.
