I was reading the thread started by bradlarose yesterday evening (10c War Tax) and it reminded me of these three values. At one time they were relatively easy to find and not too outrageously priced. No more.
They were issued initially as revenue stamps but I gather some crept into the postal system and were used as such. It must be for this reason that these were eventually listed as postal issues. The variety that had the words "Inland Revenue" above the "War Tax" came later and I never did find examples of these.
I have looked on and off for years for a postal use, on cover preferably, but have never found a satisfactory example. Has anyone out there ever found one? Or does anyone have a link to an auction example? - an SCF thread? - something that might prove to me that they actually may be found on cover.
