Two from Turkey, that has some kind of edging and overstrike. Can someone help? Thanks - Jeff

The Amazing Kreskin holds a glassine envelope to his forehead and says, "The answer is...Turkey #104 and #112."

[Later, when Jeff adds images to his first post, this post won't make any sense. Perhaps it doesn't already...]

Based on your "frustration" post of this morning, I think it is safe to say that you might want to put these aside for awhile and come back to them.

These Turkey issues from the 1860's and '70's are brutal. Scott just begins to address the various types. What I can say is that the printed borders usually (always?) signify postage dues, so start your work in that section of Turkey.

If you set them aside, they'll still be there when you feel up to it. (You might not be able to find them, but they'll be there.)

Jeff, with regards to your other posting on "Frustrated", I can see why you may feel that way when you play with stamps like these. As Cjd states, put them aside for a while and play with stamps from other countries that are more relaxing.

Nice, I don't see these Turkish postage dues very often. The color border lets you know it's not the regular issue but the corresponding postage due issue.

An 8-sided figure to represent the number 5.

Who woulda' thunk it?

BTW, hiya Nigel! Great to bump into you again. It's been awhile.

In the Scott catalog at the beginning of the Turkey listings, there is a chart showing the Turkish numerals. I should have mentioned that earlier, sorry.
