Once more, I may just be bleary eyed from too much peering at the catalog and the scanner, but these are supposed to be Montenegro, and I don't see this overprint at all... much less the stamp.
Can you give me some Scott numbers please. Thanks.

A reply pilfered from Nigelpedia...

Montenegro was occupied by Austria in 1916 and a government in exile was set up in Bordeaux in France. SG Part 3 and Michel both list some stamps that were issued there and used for a very short period. They also note that stamps in the design you show and some others were created but not issued.

For additional stamps, info, and history, you can view the Witt Collection at http://www.cinderellas.info/wittcol...llection.htm. Scroll down the left sidebar until you get to "Montenegro 1920-1 Govt in Exile Collection". There are 7 pages of goodies to go through.

Thanks Kim! Great link. Any idea as to what one complete set of the perf'd might be? Or where to look for values?

It's not listed in Scott, so someone with SG or Michel will need to chime in.

I don't find them in Michel Southern Europe or Yvert Classique. In the case of Yvert, I'm sure I'm looking in the right places...with Michel, I can only assume that I am.

SG Part 3 and Michel both list a set of 11 official stamps (French stamps overprinted "S.P. du M. Bordeaux") and three three imperf return letter labels, all issued by the government in exile in Bordeaux in 1916.

Neither catalogue lists the later unissued stamps as shown in the original post or on the Witt collection site.

the full set of 18 (only 12 have the overprints; the AR and postal tax pieces don't) can easily be found in the US$15-25 range. the normal set of 12 without the overprint are less common, usually around US$40-75.
