In 1996, New Zealand issued "Seashore" booklets of ten different stamps in both traditional gum and self-adhesive formats. One of the stamps from both of these booklets depicts a red rock crab (Guinusia chabrus).  |

This $1 value (S.G. #34) from The Australian Antarctic Territory's December 30, 1973 pictorial set of 12 stamps, depicts an oceanic struggle between a sperm whale and a giant squid (Architeuthis dux). From Wikipedia, "Recent genetic research suggests that only one (giant squid) species exists...In 2004, Japanese researchers took the first images of a live giant squid in its natural habitat, and in July 2012, a live adult was first filmed in its natural habitat off Chichijima, Japan"  |

On October 7, 1998 New Zealand released a set of eight stamps publicizing the International Year of the Ocean. One of the stamps (S.G. #2209) depicts a giant squid (Architeuthis dux).  |

Here is the 50 drachma value (Sc #1618a) from Greece's March 2, 1988 set of five Marine Life stamps. Stamp depicts a brine shrimp (Artemia salina). From wikipedia, "Artemia, the only species of the family Artemidae, has changed little externally since the Triassic period. Artemia populations are found worldwide in inland saltwater lakes, but not in oceans."  |
