Amazing Stamp Forum We Have !

This forum is definitely one of my favourites, even if I don't post as much as some other people.

No, I wouldn't think he means you or me or anyone in particular. Just that he is saying that he will post more often after this and find questions to ask and answers to answer and be such a great guy that we all love and respect him. Not that we don't now of course.

I would think that not everyone that belongs to SCF posts often or at all sometimes. It is just the stamps displayed and the information available on here is / are such great things to find and be able to access.

Not everyone can know everything all the time either. I know a bit here and you know a bit there and all together we know a lot. Or can display a bit here and there also.

Sometimes someone's passion for something, say yours for wonderful themes and topics, or mine for bumbling about discovering and being amazed at new things, awakens in others the desire and passion to try something like that themselves or in their own way.

It's all good. Every question, every contribution by everyone makes this forum what it is and I hope it continues for a long time. Who says the hobby is dying when we have new members joining all the time? Appreciation of knowledge and art and beauty and a whole bunch of other things is what holds us all together, keeps us afloat and propels us along.

I have only been here for a very short while (days) but I could not agree more with the comments posted above.

One of my friends from another good forum pointed me here and I am very glad he did: the scope of subjects being discussed on here seems to be unequaled anywhere else; which is an invaluable resource to collectors like me who are very new to the game.

With all you lot laughing, I suddenly had visions of Terry Jones [of Monty Python fame] sitting at his piano in the middle of a field, stark naked and enjoying himself ! Just imagine, if everything went, and you sitting in a field with just your desk and all your stamps....nothing else mattered !

Our observation is, if your human, nice and respect other collectors, SCF is the place to be. One can express a mature opinion, within rule boundaries, without being publicly subjected to childish ridicule. No embarrassment in recommending the SCF site to friends.

As being one of the newer converts to this forum, let me say how refreshing it is see people with a willingness to share and lend a helping hand. Like others here I belong to other stamp forums and like others here I have witnessed some of the child like bickering. Aside from the bickering, there is one particular site where every other post is about a seller or buyer committing something that is far less than honest. But, this same group when asked to aide in the prosecution of these bay guys turns into smoke and disappears. So in closing these thoughts I would like to thank each and everyone here for your open and honest candor and for making this place a joy to visit.

As a brand-spanking-new member of this forum, I would absolutely agree with all the members above about this place being great and all but my favourite part of it all is where a novice like me is still treated with the same respect as all the experts, so to speak. I don't cringe anymore before hitting the submit button on a newbie (stupid/silly??!) question anymore.
