Did you report to ebay as Item not as described? What a dishonest seller. How can anyone send stuff like that? One would probably feel guilty giving those free to a collector.

Yikes! Do you have a shredder in your mail box?
I thought not. I concur with those above...send them back.
If a seller thinks they can get away with that, they'll do it again.

i agree with every one before me about sending it back, leaving negative feed back if they wont take care of you, and above all else spread the word.. a bad seller is some one who should be very visible so that others do not make that mistake ... let them work at rebuilding their name....

I agree wholeheartedly with the others who advise to send the stamps back to the seller for a refund. If we accept this behaviour, it only encourages the seller to continue this shoddy practice.

Hello all, thanks for the advisement..this is certainly not what we expect from a so called dealer..my wife suggests giving the terrible negative no matter what I have to go through with ebay ..if he tries to soothe me with a refund or another cinderella lot that will not solve the problem..will deal with it next week when we are home !!

If the stamp I am asking for verification on is a fake, I'm going to do a trip to Sydney to get mine back (and take a few big friends)

Rant on--
I guarantee that he was hoping you would keep em and get one over hoping it was a new collector. I see it like this send garbage and you will get garbage even if a refund is issued. They know what they are doing. I am tired of getting reperfed and re-gummed stamps not only from some new seller but the worst is getting them from a reputable dealer. Granted once in awhile it is a mistake but some are so blatant that you know that they are just trying to get one over. So it is simple to me now- send me junk, I will get my refund and you will get negative feedback, and Your name will almost always end up on a forum depending what they did. Think of the lost sales for doing something like that.

Rant off-
And for the ones that do me right all they get is positive feedback and praise to others. Just think of their sales with free advertising.

As a Newish member here,I don,t want to look as if I am a Know it all,BUT,as a Basically Retired Dealer, there is NO WAY that those sort of items should be included with anything that is SOLD,they could be included as an extra at NO CHARGE "For Research" meaning cleaning the rubbish off the Desk.

But I would be letting this person know,in NO UNCERTAIN terms, that it is NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

Instead of leaving no feedback, leave honest feedback. If you leave feedback, you might save another collector and put the dealer on notice. The only one that knows you didn't leave feedback is yourself and the dealer and he already has his money. I'll guarantee you that if you leave truthful feedback, the dealer will contact you and try to make a deal.

Speaking of lousy sellers, you reminded me of an unfortunate incident happened to me!

Apart from poster stamps hobby, my essential one is collecting rare banknotes pre 1960's from certain countries (Egypt, Greece, France, Portugal, Spain, Italy & Yugoslavia) which depict Mythical Gods, Factitious Characters, Statues or Sculptures.

Anyway, once I purchased a YU note from a seller for around $1,350 through ebay. Prior the purchse, scan showed some defects and I sent the seller an e-mail to confirm, seller didn't want to answer directly & kept telling me that you just see it & if you don't like it simply return it with a full refund ...

As expected, the note had those defects. I returned back the note via Registered mail & it reached near his city. Seller claims that he didn't receive it, my P.O confirms that it reached near his city but they don't know next!

Simply, ebay says that I don't have concrete evidence. So, case was closed & I lost the note & the money, just like that!

Well, it doesn't apply all the way. Sometime, law of the jungle takes preference in life all the way, & you would never notice any "bad" consequence occurred to the "bad boy" till the rest of his life!

Maybe afterlife?! Well, I believe so ...

Cheers
