I ordered a small lot of cinderellas from a dealer in New Zealand..what a disappointment when I opened the envelope and half of them were badly damaged....i don't understand it ..i would never sell damaged items to a fellow collector....why should someone whose livlihood is selling stamps send a junk lot..i suppose I have to find a way to tell him...i am not asking for my money back but I am not giving him feedback either !!

Phil, did you buy these over ebay? Regardless, you should get your money back. And there are certainly venues (ahem, look around you) for letting fellow collectors who NOT to go to.

Yes I did purchase them from an ebay dealer..but I can not blame ebay..we all know the rules..if you get a lot that you may have overpaid on..well thats the way it goes...but it burns me that a dealer would put out a damaged junk lot..i emailed him that what he did was like suicide for a dealer and that he would get no feedback..they will probably refund my money to paypal..but thats not the point !! a mans word is his bond...and what he sells reflects on him....

I'm not suggesting that ebay is to blame, it's buyer beware. But there are avenues through ebay to get your money back. And of course make collectors aware that he's probably not a buyer to be used.
I'm wondering with this and my own past experience if there shouldn't be a thread or section on this sight for such information. Guess it hinges on liable laws etc. Perhaps something for the keepers here to look into?

i guess I blew my stack..its a reminder to me that people can order something in good faith..and not get what they thought they would ! I remember 10 12 years ago there was a spontaneous blitz on ebay..we gave a guy like 17 negs and he was gone...those were the days !!

I purchased $50 of Cinderellas from Kevin Morgan
about 6 years ago, by money order so had receipt.
He first said he didn't receive the money
I produced the receipt, then he maintained he sent them to
me and refused to deal any further, even though he could not supply and despatch details.
I closed my Aust Stamp News subs and never bought anything from
him again.
Lousy dealers.

Were scans provided of the items in the ebay listing? If scans were provided, and the stamps weren't as shown, then you could and should ask for a refund. If no scans were provided, well ...

I was going to mention, and bit my lip,
that, as a Cinderella collector, we are happy to
get some cinderellas that are less than perfect,
the odd perf missing, a crease, a tiny tear.

However your lot is absolutely disgusting:

"No way, Jose" would be my response as I sent them back.
