I have not been to this show before.
I have to move my son back to college that day ,
but maybe I can find time to make it to the show.

Well I convinced my son to get an early start this morning. We got him moved back into the dorms and I left Brandeis about 11:15. I drove pretty fast on the Mass Pike to make good time and got the show about 12:30. OK, maybe there were 20 tables in the stamp room but only about 7 dealers. Not exactly a "festival." Still, most of the tables were crowded with stamp collectors "in the zone" - busy combing through the dealers stock and pretty much oblivious to everything else. I was determined to upgrade my Scott catalogs without shelling out too much money. I got a complete 6 volume set of 2003 Scott World Catalogs for $35, and a 2002 Scott US Specialized catalog for $5. Made it worth the drive, and I didn't have to pay any shipping costs. I didn't bring home any new stamps, but I did see an interesting collection of 19th century imperforate stamps from Belgium. Also I bought a paperback book entitled "More Stories to Collect Stamps By" by the legendary philatelic writer Herman "Pat" Herst, Jr. for $4. A good haul that didn't break the bank.
