Hiya people,
I started collecting motorcycle stamps back in the 1990's. Then in year 2000 I decided to re focus my collection. Now I collect, "Any philatelic material that depicts a motorcycle, or part thereof, or name of manufacturer, recognisable as being of ITALIAN ORIGIN."
In this area I collect: Stamps, mint and used, FDC, Postally used covers, Maximum Cards, Miniature-Souvenir Sheets, Booklets, Postal Stationery, Cancellations, Metermarks, Proofs, Errors or any other philatelic items.
I thought it would be a smaller collection, but was I wrong! I now have seven albums full!
If anyone has any questions about motorcycle stamps I will try to answer them. When I stopped actively collecting all "general" motorcycles stamps in year 2000 I had recorded over 900 motorcycle stamps worldwide. I still have those records and most of the the stamps.

Whats the collective noun for motorcycles? A barking of motorcycles, The motorcycle I owned was the lower row, 2nd from left which I believe to be a Kawasaki 900. |

Rod222 I think the collective noun might well be "a gang of motorcycles" :) Gavin |

Aussie Al Do you collect all motorcycle stamps? Just the stamps or other related items? Do you have a list of those issued to work from? If not I have one that was up to date to the end of 1999 in old word format on my PC someplace that I would be happy to share with anyone who wants it.

Agustanz Yes any stamps/covers and some related items,I still have admission tickets to the Bathurst Grand Prix from 1984 1985 and 1986 (my friend raced his Ducati there). I use Stanley Gibbons Motor Vehicles on stamps catalogue.

Did you know their was a chap in the UK years ago who put together a catalogue of the worlds motorcycle stamps and sold them? I have a copy here but again dating from some time around year 2000. I would think the Stanley Gibbons cat list would be full of holes as some of the motorcycle stamps are a bit obscure! Regards Gavin |

By obscure I mean the likes these ones from Norfolk Island that only mention "motorcycling" on the peal off backing of the self adhesive stamps! Their is a set of 6 of these with different fronts. Regards Gavin |
