A very worrying ebay auction here (is the seller blind?):

Maybe some potential buyers are, though. They have 4 bids on it already!

Jimjamtwo, I'm not familiar with this variety but if you look at the left stamp the denomination value appears above the value box instead of inside it.

On issues of this type, the overprint is often higher up than it should be. I'd go to so far as to say that it's completely normal, or at least, not unusual for this stamp.

Certainly, one can agree, the denomination is not missing, so it's not the item it is represented as being.

I'm surprised anyone bidded for it at all, really.

A case of buyer beware I suppose. But if you see something like that you can always send the seller a message and tell them. I've done that in the past and occasionally have been thanked by them for doing so. I'm sure cursed silently other times.

You got it correct ... the denomination is simply shifted up a couple of mm and partially covered by the cancelation. Very common on these issues.

The thing is that the seller will only have to refund the money once the buyer receives the item and has a good look at it.

I hate to blame the buyer, but I almost feel they got what they deserved. This one was so obvious, a caveman could .... on, nvm :)

It is just a 'shift' to me.

This would have been more collectible had it been a joined pair but there is nothing rare in the stamp in that ebay lot.
