This 1958 label advertises the 3rd Philatelic & Numismatic Exposition in Olot (Catalonia), Spain. Olot is a small city of 34,000 (2016) near the French border. Featured is a view of native son Jose Clara's (1878-1958) sculpture "Maternity". |

CITEX 1949. French Stamp Centenary Exhibition, Grand Palais, Paris. 1st-12th June. The image shows 10 labels depicting a Young woman with a parasol admiring a stamp-like image of Marianne by Gandon. Simple but effective design printed in such beautiful colours. The full set is of 12 labels but there are many colour varieties. One colour label was printed each day at the Exhibition and the Press was not cleaned of the previous days colour producing many shades. |

Hi Londonbus:
I have to ask, is there a story that goes with the Newark, NJ., National Stamp Exhibition souvenir sheet you posted on 3/3/19, the one with the inverted images? Is there one with the central figure and subtitle correctly positioned or is what you posted the only type printed for this event?
Thanks.

Hi Don, I have 4 types. The one shown above is actually upside down but somewhere between my laptop and the post the image flipped over. I tried 4 times and the same happened on each occasion. So I just left it as it is !! There is also a normal sheet; Black print; and with Carmine colour missing.(Treat and part of text). I will check to see if there are others. Fingers crossed it's right this time ! |

Don, There is also a sheet with all inscriptions missing. So 5 in total. While I am here and seeing as the last one was successful, here is the one where Mr.Treat goes for a walk off stage !! |

Thanks, Londonbus. Looks like this sheet alone offers the possibility of a mini collection of five different!
Is there an active cinderella collectors organization?

Don, The possibilities with Exhibition Cinderellas, especially the Philatelic kind, are endless. There are thousands from the USA alone and the prices have risen steadily over the years. Some shows produce more than 5 types, many or most are contrived. Finding a genuine error is exciting ! Cinderellas in general have grown in stature over the years to the extent that there are now exhibits at most International shows and in 2016 the World's First Cinderella Congress took place in London. The second one will take place during 'Stockholmia' this coming June (1st-2nd). ikeyPikey gave some links to sites and forums as well as the Cinderella Stamp Club of which I am a member. The auctions are good as are the meetings but for an overseas member, like most other clubs, participation is a bit limited. But it's still worth the subscription. The Cinderellastampforum is also good especially for collectors of modern fantasy issues. In the meantime, here is another Treat ! (Ha Ha, Treat...get it ?) |

Thank you IkeyPikey and Londonbus.
Lots of choices. Collecting cinderellas obviously requires specialization early on!

4 labels, a special cancellation, and a postcard were produced for the 27th German Philatelists meeting in Nuremberg which was held on July 22-25, 1921. Three small labels contain donation figures of 5, 10, and 20 pfennigs. The fourth label is larger, 51mm x 37 mm perf tip to perf tip. It has no donation amount, and it was printed red, gray blue, gray, and olive green. Perhaps there are other colors. |
