Basque people call their flag "Ikurriña", which means just "flag" in the Basque language. Perhaps, the oldest in Europe.  |

"Estelada", meaning "Starred" in Catalan, is the name that, we Catalans give to our Liberty fighting flag. It has the four red (we say "blood") stripes on a yellow (we say "gold") field of the traditional Catalan flag (dating from XII century)and a blue triangle with a white star, meaning freedom from the Spanish crown. 2011 issued cinderella with the text: "Catalan Countries, a European Nation" (which, we actually, are!)  |
