I rescued these three poster stamps from an old collection and wondered if anyone can give me some more information about them. They are beautifully produced.

These beautiful things were issued in 1906 along with four others. They're numbered 1-7, and the scarce one is #6, with a CV of NZ$135

Your numbers 2,3 and 5 are rated at NZ$10, 15 and 15 respectively.

I sold a group of ugly examples a year or so ago. Yours are much nicer

Thanks for the information, Jubilee.

Do you happen to know the purpose for which they were used? Advertising? A souvenir of the Exhibition? Something to do with entry to the Exhibition? It would be interesting to find out.

Very interesting link about the event, as you say. Scanned it but even in the stats about the Postal display I could find no mention of these labels.

I don't know exactly what do you mean ... However, I believe these labels were unofficially released to publicize that event.

Do you mean what does each poster depict?

For instance, label which depicts an "old man" is a mourning poster stamp for Premier Richard Joseph Seddon who died unexpectedly just before the exhibition opened. Seddon had been the main driving force behind the Exhibition.

Do you mean something like that?

Cheers

Sorry to be confusing. I just meant that when I read your reference article, I did not find these labels referred to. The article itslef was very interesting but I remain curious about how the labels were used at the Exhibition. Thanks for your help.
