My largest perf size to date, perf 2

A "stuck down" but will leave as such as it dates
the carriage label to 1953.

Can you tell how this was separated from the sheet? (ex. torn, cut or some additional roulettes through the perfs)
It doesn't seem like perf 2s would tear very cleanly.

Hi DStamp,
apologies if you misunderstood,
I was commenting tongue in cheek,
I did not mean to decieve.

This label is a propaganda baggage label
and would have been die cut (albeit a very early example)
Punched out to shape by guillotine.

Hope that explains.

Welcome to our / your family at SCF

No apologies needed, I understood the joke.
I was thinking of the terrible perfs on perf10 vs. those on perf14 stamps.
To be of any use, your label had to printed in sheets, then separated.
Given the apparent age of this label, die cuts didn't occur to me until a few hours later.
Still, you are right, this must be a very early example and probably won't soak off the paper (like the current USA die cut issues).

I think the US has always had the most attractive
perf size, makes the stamp attractive, and
the paper used was generally stout, giving an all round
quality stamp.

I recall the punctured official stamps of Australia
"O.S" Official Service, were perforation pins/design were so large
it weakened the stamp, so a differing size was employed.
