jubilee, thanks, Lorne seems to be the one.
As for #1, it can only be Kirkstall or Tunstall, because Westall did not get a post office until 1960. |

4. Rodburgh
is my best guess as it appears to me to have 10 letters for symmetry and Newborough didn't open until 1942
If you think it could have 11 letters then other candidates could be Maryborough and Neilborough.

Thanks for the suggestions, nigelc! Here's another difficult one. It looks to me like it would be something like 'MOUNT (or POINT) HOUSECANE.'  This time I'm including some close-ups for those with older, weaker eyes!   |
