The stamp commemorates Francisco Xavier Billini (1837-1896), a Dominican Catholic priest and supporter of many philanthropic works. The bronze statue, created by Ernest Guilbert, gives tribute to his creation of mental asylum, college, and House of Beneficience.

Kroisos Kouros is a marble statue from Anavissos in Attica which depicts a fallen young warrior named Kroisos. The statue is dated to ca. 530 B.C. and stands 1.95 meters high.

New Acropolis Museum
June 21, 2010
The stamp depicts Peplos Kore, one of the most well-known examples of Archaic Greek art. The 118 cm-high marble statue was made around 530 BC and originally was colorfully painted. The statue was found in 1886 and is now in the Acropolis Museum in Athens.

The 5.60 cruzeiros value (Sc. #1487) from Brazil's 1976 "Development of Brazilian Sculpture" set of 4, features R. Bernardelli's 19th century bronze sculpture of a woman with a tambourine. The piece has a very "European" look.

This 1989 stamp of Costa Rica commemorates the bicentennial of the French Revolution. The statue depicted is the National Monument in San Jose, Costa, Rica.

Tell Monument is a memorial to William Tell in the market place of Altdorf, Canton of Uri, Switzerland. The bronze statue by sculptor Richard Kissling was inaugurated in August 1895 at the foot of an old tower.

The stamp shows a 16th-century Aztec statue of Xochipilli unearthed on the side of the volcano Popocatépetl near Tlalmanalco. The stone statue is of a single figure seated upon a temple-like base. Both the statue and the base are covered in carvings of sacred and psychoactive organisms.

Statue of a mounted Prince Eugene of Savoy stands in
Heroes' Square at the Imperial Palace, Vienna.
Eugene was a great Austrian Field Marshall who beat the Turks
in various battles and together with the Duke of Marlborough
was victorious against the French at Blenheim.
