One stamp in Ireland's 2014 computer-vended set of native animals and marine life (8 different designs) features the viviparous lizard. As its name implies, this reptile gives birth to live young, rather than laying eggs. Zootoca vivipara is truly an Eurasian creature, with its range spanning both continents, from Ireland to Japan. According to wikipedia, its range extends northward into the arctic circle.
