I have been surveying the "B" countries today and continue to be amazed at the number of things that catch my eye for any number of reasons.

In this small country, at the time just after the turn of the 20th century still an adjunct of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, there was a definitive issue of scenes from the life of the small Baltic nation. The engraving of these single colour issues is wonderful and the scenes portrayed are so very evocative of a way of life that has completely disappeared.

Enjoy.

Thank you for the information and the links, Bayern. I am certainly going to add that to my "I didn't know that !" file and use it the next time I rework the display page for this set.

Backroads- I agree they are lovely evocative stamps. I especially like the 45h- Bazaar at Sarajevo.
Classic era stamp collecting is where it's at!
