Great stuff Cursus. So many wonderful Cinderellas from one area....amazing.

Well deserving of a 12-page thread.

Thank you very much LB for your nice comments. But we are not speaking of "an area" but a country (not yet free) of: 32.000 sq.km, 7.5 million people (not counting the, French-occupied, Northern Catalonia) and 2.700 busy years of history. That's a lot, even for European standards!
Not being an specialist, I've got material for a 100 pages thread

November 1929 Vilanova I la Geltrú, 3rd Penedès Art Show. The Penedès (written here as "Panades") is a "comarca", Catalan equivalent to British counties. It's written is Spanish (even the town's name, spelled "Villanueva y Geltru") as we were, as often, under a military dictatorship (1923-1929) and they forced everything to be written in Spanish, banning Catalan.
The aesthetics of the cinderellas is that of the "Nou-centisme".

Just to end with the Cobi series: Skating Hockey, very popular on the Western European Mediterranean countries, as both ice and grass are rare and expenssive; and Jai Alai or Basque (from the Basque Country, or Euzkadi) Ball. Not too popular in Catalonia, but widely spread on the Basque Country (Gulf of Biscay shore, both in Spain and France).

Barcelona Province Government Savings Bank cinderellas, from around 1950. On the second one, there's a "Mosso d'Esquadra", today Catalonia's Police.

Here you've it.

Thank you for your interest, but they're not real paintings, but the artist's interpretation of the cave paintings found in Southern Catalonia and in other areas of the East of the Iberian peninsula, like these:
