Cinderellas are not something of the past. We also find moderns ones. Like these cinderellas, issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Catalonia's Car Club in connection with the Filabarna 2006 stamp exhibition. Anyway, they lack the charm of the vintage ones.

We've reached the 95.000 readings milestone in 5.5 years. Not so bad, for a thread dealing with the cinderellas of a small contry from a corner of the old Europe, on a forum read mainly by English speaking people from all around the world.
Even more as, the economy hasn't allowed me to buy and upload interesting cinderellas (I only upload cinderellas from my own collection), which are ussually expenssive, although this is not always true.
Lately, the generosity of some friends, has allowed me to own some very nice cinderellas, like this one. It was issued for the Esperanto language congress, held in Barcelona in September 1909. It's drawn on Modernist style. It was a gift of my good friend Alexandre, just a week ago, when I visited him and enjoyed his wonderful collection.

I wish to say thank you to all the contributors to this thread: James, Mike, Melic, Rod...Just to name a few... And, last but not least, all the faithful readers of this thread. Without you all, it wouldn't had been possible.

Thank you very much, folks!

A very interesting, and never seen, cinderella, showing the Catalan Independence Flag.
Very often hoisted nowadays all around Catalonia. Perhaps, it will become the national flag of the coming Catalan Republic.

Catalan old country small churches (we call them "ermites"), as they were back in 1932. Surprisingly, except for one, all have survived nearly a century of troubles and stand pretty well.

In 1999 in Reus, there was issued a 10 cinderellas sheet to commemorate the 100 years of the birth of the sculptor Joan Rebull (the one that appears, young, on a stamp of a previous post) showing some of his works.

From the Àlbum Catalunya, we upload these cinderellas showing the Palau de la Generalitat on Barcelona's Plaça de Sant Jaume (St. James square). This gothic palace, built from 1400 onwards, is the home of the Catalan Governement. From its balcony, on April 14th 1931, the Second Catalan Republic was proclaimed by President Francesc Macià.
