I'm not sure if this post will make sense, but I thought I would 'put it out there' as information and possibly something to think about.

Earlier this week, I bought a small lot of about 150 Canadian mint singles and souvenir sheets. All were 21st Century stamps between 2001 and 2004.

I was very fortunate to get them from a (good!) friend in Canada who sold them to me at Face Value -- about $92.

As I mounted them, I checked against my 2010 Unitrade Catalog and the catalog value is about $198.

Bottom line -- I paid about 46% of catalog value.

I'm very happy with my purchase and I needed the stamps to fill some holes --- but it does give a general indication of the expense of collecting modern mint stamps.

What % of Catalog do you normally pay for stamps in your collection?
