I just purchased my first ever Gibbons Stamp Monthly magazine last night at our local hobby store.
What an incredible resource of fascinating and well-researched information. And it's so well-written.
I especially was impressed with the fact that Gibbons has its own storefront in the U.K. - now that's a place I'd like to visit in my travels.
I'm looking forward to many hours in the days ahead reading the magazine.
I also reinstated my membership in the American Philatelic Society today (it had lapsed in 1990). I'm excited about rejoining and also looking forward to receiving their monthly publication.
As for Gibbons magazine, I think I can probably only handle one issue every 2-3 months! It is so jam-packed with articles and information.
Yirmeyahu, I agree that the Stanley Gibbons magazine is filled with interesting, well written articles. I only purchased a couple of these publications before my local book store stopped carrying them.
I picked up a few editions of the Stanley Gibbons magazine last time I was in London, at the Stanley Gibbons storefront to be precise. It is worth a visit, although the stamps I saw there were far out of my price range, it was fun browsing a bit. And I took the opportunity to check out some of their catalogues as well.
The magazine is a very good read, but unfortunately nobody sells it near me. Instead I pick up Stamp Magazine when I can, also a good read.
My nearby Barns and Noble has this every month, also Stamp Magazine from the UK. Buying them monthly is no more expensive than a sub and on the installment plan besides.
