Hi all. I'm after opinions on this stamp.
It was in an approval book that I bought at the weekend and was labelled as a #2. It appears to fit but for a high cat. value item I'm wary as I didn't pay much for the whole booklet which contained quite a few Ceres, Napoleon III etc.

There is a crease but not too bad otherwise. Cancel appears to be a Paris star. What does anyone think

Link to all scans - some great stuff.

Looks like a genuine France #2 with genuine cancel to me.

3 1/2 margins, strong color/impression, one heavy horizontal crease, one minor horizontal crease/bend(?), several toned spots and just a little dirty on the left side.

Congratulations.

Cheers guys.
So onto more specific questions if I may.
There are various shades listed such as green on greenish paper, yellow green (SG + Scott) + dark green and very dark green in Y+T.
Would you say this is green on greenish as it is much darker than any other images I can find?
Would 10% of cat. be a fair value?
Oh and it has a mark on the back possibly owner or expertisation.

It looks similar to the mark of Dejan Tubinovic but I lean towards owner as most of the early items are marked in this booklet.

It looks green on greenish to me but I have none to compare to so take that with a grain of salt please. a full scan of the back would be good also.

I am with khj on this one. Perhaps not a high-quality stamp, but an attractive one noenetheless.
