Those are fine examples you've accumulated there Anthony.

I see that Louis-Eugene Mouchon, engraved the Peace and Commerce
stamp and printing was via typography.

There are enough Peace & Commerce/Sage issues there for people to get lots of practice distinguishing Type I from Type II.

For anyone who doesn't know how to tell, look at the bottom left corner, below "REPUBLIQUE" where you will find the tiny writing with the designer's name ("Sage"). The "N" following "SAGE" falls under the "B" in "REPUBLIQUE" for Type I, and under the "U" for Type II.

It is worth knowing the difference, as the values vary a bit across the Types.

Thanks guys.
Litho - That was just some of last weekends arrivals I'm loving the trips to the Charing Cross collectors fair!

I'll try and make notes on colours etc as there are quite a few varieties there.

Beautiful stamps, the colors just jump out at you. They really must make an impression as a group on pages.

I just picked these up recently. I thought they might complement what is already here.

France Scott #12 1853-60 1 centime Emperor Napoleon
Edit: Based on Anthony's post, this seems the same as his Yvert & Tellier #11.

France Scott #19 1853-60 80 centimes Emperor Napoleon

France Scott #39 1870-71 2 centime Ceres Bordeaux Issue

Yes, beautiful stamps! What a visual barrage of classic French material, nice touch! And if I read your OP correctly....Congratulations on putting them together in a year! WOW!

I can share the following with y'all, haven't had time to research these much at all but thought I could add to the visual compendium that has developed so nicely!

Have a Good One,

Skilo54
