I snagged these 6 from ebay for 99c, can you believe that! I am trying to figure out the postmark on the 15k - any help? vasia? Sorry about the image, I do not have the stamps yet. I did a bad resize, and have now fixed it. |

Hello BeeSee, based on the first letter (in the lower cancel) and the letters appearing in the upper cancel, I would venture to say that your stamp is cancelled in Verkhneudinsk (since 1934 renamed Ulan-Ude, the capital of Buryatia Republic, located south-east of lake Baikal). Nice purchase! |

Thanks once again Vasia. I am quite happy with this 99c purchase, especially another cancel I did not have. |

Nice, BeeSee I had initially added it in the body of my answer, but the Cyrillic characters were not appearing properly , so I edited it out. |

Any ideas on this tough to read cancel from the Far Eastern Republic. It looks like it starts with "Nikolsk", similar to the previous cancel identified by Vasia. |

Hi Everybody, I'm new to the forum and am an avid collector of the Russian Civil War and Far Eastern Republic.I was very excited to see a forum on the subject and all of the information has proved very helpful especially the timeline and pictures. I was hoping that you guys could help me with a few more questions dealing with this area though, as it is definitely an area where there is still much research to be done. Below are two pictures of used copies of the Amur issue, the only two which I've ever seen as most of them were struck with crayon or black bars as remainders. I hope this helps with the original topic. |

Those are very nice stamps Czechlegion. I too have seen very few used of the Amur set. Welcome to the forum! |

Checklegion, if you post higher resolution scans, we may identify the towns of the cancels. I recently received this fine used Amur Province issue: The cancel is from the village of Peschano-Ozerskoye in Amur. Below is the portion of the cancel I can identify. It appears to be dated January, 1921. |

Here is a recent Far Eastern Republic acquisition. It appears to have a railway cancel similar to mentioned previously, but with engine 63 (or another numeral before it?). The second part of the cancel is Vladivostok. The date appears May or June 15, 1921. |

vasia, is the list of TPOs generally available?
Do you (or does anyone) know if Barefoot includes these in either the Russian Postmark or Russian Railway Postmark handbooks?
Thanks. |
