It's one of the stamps in the FAO (Freedom from Hunger) issue. In the Scott catalog, Sweden #623 (21Mar1963). |

That is a 1963 stamp referencing an anti-hunger campaign. This was a relatively early piece engraved by Slania for Sweden. There is another color/value sharing this design, as well. |

Quote: I can not even make out the design on the front. The stamp design shows "hands" reaching out for wheat. |

This stamp is from the 1963 Swedish set of two marking the UN Freedom from Hunger campaign. The design is of stylised hands reaching towards ears of wheat. |

It's a stamp from 1963, for the fight against hunger. It depicts hands grasping for wheat plants. Stamp is the lower value in a series of two (the other being 50 ore in blue violett - same depiction). Minimal value according to my somewhat aged Michel catalogue. Edit: everyone is helping out at the same time... |

Although to be fair, in different countries (and at different times in the past) the name "corn" can refer to various cereal plants, i.e. it doesn't always refer to maize as it usually does I believe in the US.
Traditionally in England "corn" usually meant wheat and in Scotland it usually meant oats. |
