A New Zealander had a similar problem with "Our Julia" last week:

Red-faced New Zealand officials were forced to apologise to Julia Gillard after a bus driver told her to get on the bus for leaders' spouses at last week's Pacific Islands Forum in Auckland.

In a diplomatic faux pas, the driver initially refused to let the Prime Minister ride with the other leaders attending the forum, a New Zealand news website reported on Wednesday.

The driver was immediately told of the mix-up and allowed Ms Gillard on the bus, which took the leaders to a function on the Auckland waterfront.

Spouses rode in separate buses for security reasons. However, the driver's services were not used again during the forum.

Ms Gillard is currently the only female leader of the 16 nations that make up the forum.
