It's a stamp from 1948, from the Allied occupation of Germany (British and American zone). It's an overprint of the general stamp that was issued by the occupying forces in Germany.

Michel lists it as 40I, minimal value.

How much was the minimal value of this stamp you said Tinus.
you're reply is it 401 and in what currency.
I've suspected that it might have some value to it.

No, it's not 401 but 40i (Allied occupation - British and American zone), sorry for not being clear.
Value is EUR 0,20 in my 2008 Michel Deutschland-Katalog. If it had been a covering overprint (posthorns all over) it would have been a little more valuable (EUR 2,00).
