Yes it is from ukraine.
The different towns in Ukraine had different tridents ( but very similar, they usually differ in the lower part of the trident read handle ). handstamped symbols on them.
It is also found on many stamps from ukraine from get go in their design, with out being applied later to them.
All together an interesting topic for those who like look deeper into it.
for example Charkov and Odessa have the trident but it differs in design.

Michel lists these under Ukraine (1918). There were 6 districts (Kiew, Charkow, Jekaterinoslaw, Poltava, Odessa, Podolia), all kind of postmarks (made of wood, metal and rubber). From your stamp is hard to tell which district is from...
