Just received Eastern Auctions November 23rd, 2011 Mail Sale catalogue. page after page after page, it's chock full of city precancels, law stamps, excise, inland revenue, etc., etc., etc.

All (I think) are viewable on ww.easternauctions.com.

I will be bidding on about 50 items in that sale. It's a nice offering.

Impressive collections.
I generally stay away from precancels, but I hung on to this one because it was mint and unhinged.

My understanding is if a stamp is precancelled, then it's considered used. Is that correct?
Then that would make this stamp mint used. Bit of an anachronism, if that's the correct word.

So back in 2012 I wrote that I stayed away from precancels...never say never.
Looking through one of my vario albums I reacquainted myself with this collection I gleaned from a collection I was given last fall.

I won't start hunting these down, but still a fun page of stripes!

Take a look in your Unitrade catalogue for the price on the 2c Centennial precancels. I bet you'll be hoping to find more of those!
