I have a 17p dark blue Machin (Scott MH98) with the perfin HC (my scanner and computer are not talking at the moment, so I don't have a scan to show). I see there is one in the array just above. Does anybody have an identification?

Hi Trainwreck,

Quite a number of different organisations have used an "HC" perfin at different times. Some can be identified by the pin counts or by the height of the perfin.

For example the green George VI stamp has a perfin with pin count 10,7. If this is 4mm high then it's probably from Hull City. If it's 4½mm high it could be one of several identified users.

Thanks for the info. My perfin is not quite the same as the one depicted--it seems to be slightly taller and narrower.
