Wurttemberg's "number in lozenge" definitive series began in 1875 and ended in 1923. From 1906, these stamps were issued with "cross and circle" watermarks. Some of those stamps are shown here. It must be stated that "used" Wurttemberg official stamps issued after 1906 should be viewed with skepticism, due to their prevalence as c.t.o.'s made for stamp collectors.

Michel describes the color of both the 2 pf and 2 mk stamps as blackish-gray turquoise. Inking, age, and paper make these two appear slightly different.

Here are two modern stamps of private courier LVZ Post of Leipzig, Germany. LVZ Post is a subsidiary of Leipzig Volkszeitung, a daily regional newspaper in Leipzig and western Saxony, Germany. In the competitive world of courier mail service, when costs and prices go up, using the same image saves money.

This stamp shows Gondwanaland habitat at the Leipzig Zoo. From zoo-lepzig.de, "Gondwanaland allows you to experience the tropical rainforests of Africa, Asia, and South America with all of your senses. This covered area (larger than two football pitches) is home to almost 200 exotic animal species and approximately 500 different plant species."

Vertical versus horizontal format, and two completely different colors are quite different stamps with the same swans image only. Not the same, IMO.

Anyway, here are identical images of Guatemalan stamps: same format, same 12.5 perforation, and what Scott calls bright pink for both stamps.

The 4c value (Sc #448) of the 1986-96 Miguel Angel Asturias Cultural Center definitive series was issued on March 16, 1993. The 8c value (Sc #452) was issued on November 27, 1987.
