Now, what do you call serious?
I have started collecting the trains and rail stamps as part of my transport section. I was going to open a post for this but you beat me to it.

Looks serious enough for me, Bandicoot. I've a U.S. air mail stamp perffinned for the Atcheson, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway. Interested?

Hi folks....

Here's a Railroad item of mine.......non-discript post card but the cancel is interesting, at least to me.........FT. W (Fort Worth) TEAGUE (TEAGUE CITY) & HOUS (HOUSTON) R.P.O. (RAILROAD POST OFFICE).....TR 8 (TRACK or TRIP(?) 8 ) Jan. 6, 1913.

Just so happens....my last name is Teague.

Here's old what's-his-face tied to a cover with a Mainz-Marnheim "Bahnpost" -- German railway postmark -- apparently from 1941.

I have thought about looking into RPO's, my wife's grandfather was a postal clerk that worked in a RPO. I have a travel clock he received from the USPS. I know that the rail had a lot to do with the previous roads that became route 66 traveled.
