I can't find it either in Scott or SG.

There is a 1895 unwmk Scott 26 2sh6p "violet & black" ($275 mint), and a 1896 wmk sideways (Crown and CC) Scott 37 2sh6p violet "rose & black" ($175 mint), but the the color doesn't match your image, and they do indeed have POSTAGE & REVENUE on the top ribbons, which your example does not.

SG has 1895 SG 26 "black and bright magenta", and 1896 SG 37 "black and magenta" wmk Crown CA or sideways Crown and CC.

No other mention of your design.

I saw those too. But Scott can be limited. Without the 'postage and revenue' could it be a straight fiscal or revenue stamp, and not listed here? That was my first thought.

It is not shown in Forbin. BCA's revenues had a pretty high production value...they are sharp looking stamps.

I don't know what this is, but it doesn't seem to be up to the usual standards of the revenue or postage stamps of BCA.

I think the paper gives it away, it looks
decidedly dodgy.

British Central Africa Stationery

There were some cinderellas printed by the Nyasaland Company.

Hi,

Specialist say it is not an official BCA (British Central Africa) or Nyasaland issue. Probably private done for some unknown reason.

Is an unofficial stamp can be used?

If you have more information about this... comments are welcome :-)

Thank you!

Unofficial stamps can be used CDnum,
but they are not legal, and you will be costing your country income.
You also may suffer loss or return, or postage due.
I recall a NZ collector franking his envelope
with a stamp cut from a coil box,
The mail went through on that occaision.
