Hello! I am new to this forum and I have seen a lot of knowledge here. I try to identify (sorry, English is not my native language) the difference between the first Montenegro printings. I do have the Michel catalogue but it is still quite hard to distinguish the first,second, third and fourth printings for me. Any god internet site?

Best regards
/Magnus

Still looking for a link, in the meantime maybe this helps a bit: the difference bw. perforations of first&second printings(issues) and later (third&fourth) issues. It`s in German (Senf`s Katalog 1914) first picture: perforation of earlier issues.

Here is what Scott Classic says:

Early (1874):
perf 10.5, large holes, pointed teeth;
narrow spacing between stamps (2-2.5mm)

Middle (1879):
perf 12 or 12.5 or 13 or compound;
narrow spacing between stamps

Late (1893?):
perf 10.5 or 11.5, small holes broad teeth
(also perf 11.5 with pointed teeth);
narrow and wide spacing between stamps (2.75-3.5mm)
Dates of issue of late printings still being researched.

For whatever its worth.

C.

Thanks Cjd!
Interesting, Michel distinguise four printings (-74, -79, -90, -93). One conlusions is that a countrycollection according to cataloug could be different depending on which catalouge you are using.

Absolutely!

More information is usually better, but more information can get expensive.
