BeeSee: the more I look at your great scan of the New Brunswick Scott#6 1 cent locomotive stamp (page 4 of this thread) the more I tend to agree with you re it being your favourite. I came across information that said of all the railway items on stamps in the world this was the first (issued in May, 1860).

Posted this on another thread as well but 2 trains are better than 1! I have 2 original NB trains in 2 different hsades and along came this one . Is this a proof or trial color? Seems like its done on newer paper so at first I assumed re-issue but I can't find any reference. Thanks for any imput CHOOOOO CHOOOOOOO!!

Marius: great set of train stamps. I used my ipad to blow them up and viewed them individually while I was having my morning coffee. It inspired me to check my collection for train stamps as a winter project.

Those Norway stamps are nice.

I wonder if they are narrow gauge or what? I am not familiar with Norway history except for the Vikings. Have to research.

Diesel express train, designed by Norwegian artist Johannes Haukland (1918- ), printed by photogravure, and issued by Norway on April 30, 1954 as one of a three stamp set celebrating the centenary of the inauguration of the first Norway railway, Scott No. 332, Facit No. 418.
