Ancient postmen of Austria
 - Roman messenger on horseback. Romans had high-quality road system and well organized messenger and mail transport.
- A postman from the Ambras Book of Heroes (13th Century).
- The Nuremberg messenger, after a woodcut from the second half of the 16th century. He wears a small messenger shield and the usual messengers spit and beyond in highly conspicuous manner a letter.
