Tapestries from Wawel castle in Kraków

..panther fighting with a dragon

The Gothic Wawel Castle in Kraków in Poland is now one of the Polish premier art museums.
Among different colections (Italian Renaissance paintings, prints, sculptures..) is the Sigismund II Augustus tapestry collection.
The stamps shows a part of tapestry created around 1560, according to design by an unknown artist from the circle of Pieter Coecke van Aelst, a tapestry weaver.

March, 24, 2014. FCD showing Barcelona's Park Güell Dragon's Fountain on the park main stairs. Although my grand father who lived nearby (as we still do), called it "the Lizard's Fountain"; obviously, he had never seen a living dragon... I my view, it looks more as an iguana.

The beast is on the mini-seet and also on the round stamp, actually the reproduction of a 2 € coin. The park was built by Antoni Gaudí between 1901 and 1914 and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

EUROPA 2010

The common theme of EUROPA 2010 was Children`s Books.
It seems that dragos love to read books with children.
