Paul Hindemith (1895 - 1963) was one of the principal German composers of the first half of the 20th century and a leading musical theorist. He sought to revitalize tonality — the traditional harmonic system that was being challenged by many other composers — and also pioneered in the writing of Gebrauchsmusik, or "utility music," compositions for everyday occasions.

German Post issued a stamp on November 9, 1995 to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Paul Hindemith.

Alban Berg (1885 – 1935) was one of the key founders of the Second Viennese School in the early years of 20th century. He wrote atonal and 12-tone compositions that remained true to late 19th-century Romanticism. He composed orchestral music, chamber music, songs, and two groundbreaking operas, Wozzeck (1925) and Lulu (1937).

Austrian Postal Service issued a stamp on February 8, 1985 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Alban Berg.

Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninoff (1873 – 1943) was a Russian composer, pianist, and conductor. Rachmaninoff is widely considered as one of the finest pianists of his day and, as a composer, one of the last great representatives of Romanticism in Russian classical music.
Rachmaninoff's compositions are limited in number but include symphonies, piano concerti, orchestral tone poems, operas, chamber works, solo piano collections, transcriptions, and choral pieces. His piano concerti No. 2 and No. 3 are played constantly and world-renowned. Also famous is his Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini for piano and orchestra, three symphonies, and his tone poem Isle of the Dead.
Rachmaninoff was one of the four composers honored in a stamp set by Moldova Post issued on February 22, 1997.

Hi Nethryk, could you add a piece of music for this American composer? (I very much enjoy listening to your stamps, but don't know how to add the music myself, for example the piano concerto?. K.)
