The stamp commemorates Latvian composer and conductor Emils Darzins (1875-1910). He is known for his work on vocal music (choral and art songs) and his orchestral music Melanholiskais valsis.

Death Bicentenary of W. A. Mozart (1756-1791), designed by Pavel Sivko, engraved by Bohumil Sneider and issued by Czechoslovakia on February 4, 1991. The stamp shows the Mozart portrait and the Estates Theatre, Prague, in which Mozart personally conducted performances there.
