Wasn't sure to post in topical "Balloons" or close enough to belong in aviation. Anyway, here is some postal history from Galveston, Texas. Very fine strike of "Galveston Tx Mar 20, 1882 and fancy geometric killer on three-cent banknote.Mailed to Nassau Street in New York City; docketing indicates year 1882. Interesting handstamp in blue of "antique flying machine". (Ex Alice Erickson Collection).   |

I had posted this recently under the "Covers" topic, but it is also appropriate here, I think. Based on the dates, this postcard flew on the last leg of the first Europe -to-South America-to-the U.S.-to- Europe flight of the Graf Zepplin, the flight for which the stamp on the postcard was issued.  |

Chile - Oct.24, 2023 MARGOT DUHALDE (1920-2018) Margot was a Chilean pilot. She served with the Air Transport Auxiliary of the RAF in WW2. After the war she flew war planes for the French Air Force. She was France's first female combat pilot. Later in Chile she opened her own flying school and worked as flight instructor and as traffic controller in the Chilean Air Force.
