Here is a "neat" little cover that is using all 14 stamps issued on May 12th, 1937 from Newfoundland.

It is made of 2 sets, 230-232 Coronation Omnibus Isse and 233-243
Long Coronation Issue.

Though you might enjoy this...

Nice cover PoStat

I like the small town cancellation too. I think those are better than officially produced covers from the capital cities.

Overcome by that clean, small village cancel from Aquaforte, Newfoundland I spent an enjoyable hour checking the community out on Google Maps and Images. Wiki, as well as other sites. My hope was to locate a picture of its post office but I did not find one.

Compliments to you-- a really beautiful and historical cover.

You might find it of interest that according to the Newfoundland Specialized Stamp Catalogue (NSSC), this tiny town cancel (which of course is a split ring cancel) is listed with a population of 176 people and opened in 1891. It is in the S.S. (Southern Shore) district.

I would hazard a guess that the value is incrementally higher as compared to say a St Johns cancel.

I have a similar FDC which I shall post later

Here is a comparable first day cover from May 12, 1937. Not all the stamps as above, but #230, #231, #232. This was also registered at St Johns with the cancel plus blue pencil on front and back.

I got it for $1 back in the 1970s.

PoStat4evR..Nice cover.

There will not be many covers coming from this small town, since in 2011 the population was 83 people..

PoStat4evR. Check the stamps carefully. There are some great finds to to made on this series of stamps.

Here are the two fdc I have. Both sent registered from St Johns. One to UK, one to Usa.

The plain cover having several varieties.

Would you like to see the varieties ?.

I am interested in seeing more of the varieties.
The others are old posts. I brought it back to keep this FDC grouped.
So, they are fairly common? What kind of value?
Anything odd to look for in the stamps?

jaxom100.

Thanks for bringing this old post back to life. I think my cover will be of great interest to newfoundland, and variety collectors.

The first is the 3c. This stamp looks like its the misplaced entry shown on re-entries.com.
